ACCOMMODATIONS:

MVACL currently has 24 living spaces through 6 shared homes located in Barry's Bay. sixteen of these spaces are fully accessible to those with physical disabilities. The number of hours of individual support is given based on the amount required and the funding available to provide assistance.

SERVICE PROVISION: SMALL TEAMS

MVACL believes in the small team model of support. Each individual at MVACL has an intimate team of 5 staff persons and family members to assist them in creating their life plan. This life plan looks at the areas of a persons life such as; personal history, personal qualities, likes, dislikes, mobility issues, personal choices, support required, health and wellness, finances, vocational and educational experiences, recreational and leisure pursuits, and religious and cultural involvement. These small teams are responsible for identifying measurable outcomes in each of these areas, and ensuring these outcomes are met. With such an intimate team, everyone is committed to the goal of participating and expressing individual identities.

INTAKE PROCESS:

Individuals looking for Developmental Services in Renfrew County should approach Family and Children's Services (FCS). Intake forms will be completed, and Case Co-ordination can begin.
