Board of Directors
The Board of Directors consists of 10 volunteers who have been elected by the general membership. Members who express interest in becoming board members are interviewed by the membership committee of the board and their names are put forth for acceptance by the general membership at the Annual General Meeting. When a vacancy occurs at the board during the fiscal year, the board members may recruit a replacement.
Role of the Board
The Board of Directors represent the interests and act on behalf of the general membership during the period between the Annual General Meetings. The Board is involved in leading the philosophical direction of the agency, and participate in fundraising for the organization. Board members are involved in committees, membership, bylaw and policy development, strategic planning and fundraising and other short term committees as required. The board hold a membership with Ontario Community Living and participate in Les Vallees for the Eastern Ontario region.
